Do you ever grab things...then put them back...clothes or food? i seem to do that...like i think something is ok...then somehow rationalise it is not...it goes back...grocery shopping takes me forever. No one will go with me, and i prefer to go alone anyways...but the spinning and just routine/ritual is frustrating sometimes.

Hugs!
I understand completely! I prefer to just go out shopping by myself now, but then it does mean what should take a short period of time actually takes so much longer, cos I am so indecisive. Yep it's got to the point I'd rather not go shopping anymore, it's too difficult. I will stand looking at a particular item for ages and everyone must be looking at me! Then I move away, turn back round and I find myself back at the same item. I pick it up, put it down, pick it up, put it somewhere else and then turn round the obsession goes on and on and on.

Ergh...me too. I do a lot of the yes/no/yes/no and taking things then putting them back...putting things in order as well. But another thing that drives me crazy and yet I can't stop is buying things in sets of two/four/six and on and on. Like if I need to buy soy milk I have to buy two boxes, or if I'm buying diet pepsi I need four 6-packs. Fruit on the other hand needs to be an odd number. 5 apples. 3 bananas. 1 pear. Whyyyyyy??? It doesn't make any sense.

I always take 3 apple, 3 pears, 3 oranges...anything like that.
I count the bananas and they have to be in odd numbers. 5, 7...
Yeah, I get pretty obsessive about all sorts of shopping excursions. Oh, and the whole 'pick the item up, put it down, look it over, turn away and come right back to it'? I do that ALL the time!
But I have to do my own shopping so I can't avoid it...and I also get really agitated when I forget to put something on my grocery list, and I see that I need something not on that list...I often will skip it and go home, put it on my list, and go back another day to get it.
I go to several different shops for things too, and I have to get specific things at specific stores. I can't get soy milk at Stop & Shop. I have to get it at Trader Joe's.
It's exhausting, isn't it?

Actually, it's in shops that my OCD tends to come back... I haven't had full on OCD since I was 14/15 but if I'm in supermarkets I have to go round changing the way things are facing and putting things back in the right place...
