my GP told me that it takes about two weeks for the medication to take effect and that anything i experienced before then was coincidental; a placebo effect, if you will, except for negative side effects.

HOWEVER when i was taking prozac two days into it i could feel i was getting nauseous when i ate particularly acidic/ spicy food, then when the meds kicked in it developed into full on heartburn whenever I ate anything.

Sounds like your doc wasn't very clear. The medication's beneficial effects take 2-4 weeks to start. Side effects don't necessarily follow that rule and can start right away.

Bedhead sweating is a relatively common side effect, so it could be related.
